I finally did it. Managed to save up all my pennies and get myself a very decent laptop. I have bought myself the Sony Vaio NW20SF in Silver. Its a great laptop and here are the specs so you can see exactly what Im getting. :)

Its being delivered at some point this week. I have already got my mobile broadband sorted out too. Perfect connection for all the places I plan on streaming from, and I am on an unlimited plan, so I can stream anywhere in the UK for as long as I like, so expect some random live streams from all over the country as time goes on.

10,000 Live Views on Justin TV

I've only been on the site 4 days and I already have more Live Views than I did on Stickam in many months. It's great to see my channel is becoming so popular, and it's all thanks to you, the viewers.

When my new HD Webcam (Logitech 9000) is delivered I will be streaming in HD, with a much better microphone, and I will be a lot higher quality and more colourful on cam, which should make my live stream a bit more interesting.

I will also be creating a new YouTube Account, which I will use to put videos of my live stream updates, along with other videos, which might be quite funny and so on. I'm still thinking about the kinds of videos to do. I will be linking the YouTube account very closely with my Live Stream on Justin TV to ensure both get lots of views from both ends, and it will help my Live Stream become a lot more popular by reaching out and gaining views from people all over the world on YouTube, which is a very popular website.

I've left Stickam!

It was getting too much. Everyday my chat would be lifeless for hours, even when I was chatting away and being a cool host, and then when people did come they were gay and asked me to take my clothes off.

So Ive moved on. I did a few tests on various streaming sites, and after seeing Justin TV gets about 100x more traffic than Stickam, I have chosen them, as they have a Total View stat placed nicely on the channel page which I can increase from both live views and profile views, which is a nice feature.

I went live for the first time last night and had up to 20 people in my chat at the same time, which was already a lot more than I ever got on Stickam. It was great fun, and I gained 400 Live Views in just my first night, which is pretty good considering I don't know anybody.

So yeh, I am sticking to Justin TV now, AKA JTV, and will be working hard on creating a very famous channel for people to enjoy. This blog will see the progress of that.

My milestone for tonight is to gain 500 views. After I gain 1000, and see the speed I got the views, I will set more milestones and targets for my views, and work on advertising the stream.

HD Cam stopped working

Sadly my HD webcam has stopped working. I am unsure why it has happened, and it means I am back to my old webcam, but luckily I have a basic microphone so I am still streaming with sound and can talk to you lovely guys and girls, but not in anywhere near as good quality as before until I get a new webcam, which won't be for some time as I am trying really hard to get a laptop at the moment at the same time as saving for Thailand spending money.

I have got a refund coming from Amazon. I just need to package it all back to them. I havent found anyone who has had the same problem, so I am going to borrow my bosses laptop tomorrow night and check if it works on there, and if not, Ill print off the return label from his laptop (I havent got a printer), and then return the item and my refund will come within 30 days or something, which is ages, but hey, its around the same time I will get enough money for laptop savings.

I have saved up £320 so far towards my laptop savings, and I need £629.

The laptop I am getting is the brand new Sony VAIO NW20ZF/S, which is a lovely laptop with 320GB HDD, 4GB RAM, Windows 7 64bit, a T6600 Duo Core 2.2ghz Processor and some Ati Radeon HD 4570 Graphics too. Not bad really considering the price, and it looks and feels absolutely gorgeous. I had a little go on it in PC World, and oh my days I love it. Sadly they turned me down for finance for it because my phone contract has had some issues so my credit rating is screwed up. Oh well, guess Ill buy it full out and atleast then I wont have monthly payments to worry about. :)

I've been doing full time hours at work since I got expelled from college. Problem is I have been getting ill more often. I had a migraine last week, and now I have that vomitting bug, so Ive been throwing up all night. Thats why I haven't been on Stickam for a few days or updating this blog. Its been me either at work for a very long period of time, or I'm ill. Heh.

Ah well, Im starting to feel a bit better now. I just need a very early night tonight, because I have a 7 hour shift of work tomorrow, and 8 hours the next day.

So yeh, it's been a pretty good day today. I woke up very late, and was happy to catch up on sleep.

I met up with a close friend and went round town, and ended up with two bike related incidents.

Firstly I noticed a sign placed up in the town centre:

And then on the walk home I saw a small van almost hit a biker. I shouted at him to stop, and the biker sorta swerved into a park car nearly hitting it and stopped just in time. I shouted at the van driver to "Always look twice for bikes", quoting the "Think" advert which was played a lot. And the biker thanked me for warning him haha.

Rest of the day was spent looking into finance options on getting decent laptop. Im in a mood where I wanna say fuck it and get myself a nice Sony Vaio. So yeh.

Boss's Laptop and my Wireless Range

I am borrowing my Boss's laptop tonight, because I am doing some design work for Costa (New Labels for the Christmas Events which have the same colour scheme as the other Christmas labels).

I got it all done, and just need to transfer the files onto the Laptop, which I will get done tomorrow morning.

Whilst borrowing the laptop, I used Stickam and checked out my wireless range on my modem. I live on the seafront and wanted to see if I could make it to the beach. Imagine how cool my live streams would be with the seas behind me as Im chatting away to people from all over the world.

It was so close to reaching the beach, but cut out at the last minute. Luckily, I found that the laptop I am getting will be using 802.11n instead of 802.11g, which is the new type of Wireless and means you get nearly twice as much range, and a faster connection, which will mean I can stream from the beach with a reasonable connection...hopefully. I will definately let you know how that goes. If the worst comes to the worst, I may buy a router to stick halfway through the building, as I really think streaming from the beach would be cool. :)

A new College, a new start?

I have looked around for some other colleges in Kent that do the IT National Diploma course which I am interested in, and have found that the Ashford Campus of SKC (South Kent College) does the course.

I sent an email to the Course people, and it has been forwarded to the manager of the IT Department. I am now waiting for them to get back to me.

I am wondering if it might be a good idea to send some emails to other colleges that do the course too, rather than waiting and hoping on this one option.

If the worst does come to the worst and I can't get into another college, it looks like I will be doing a half gap year kind of thing at Costa Coffee and then retaking the course in September, and hopefully be able to slot straight into the Second Year of the course, as I have already completed the first year, and I was told my grades which I have achieved so far would be saved and can be used in the future, so I must be able to carry on.

I wonder what good is going to come of this. If I do get into Uni, I am highly considering a year abroad in the US as part of my studies.

Expelled from College

Oops. Yeh, loads of little things added up. I was on a final warning, and I thought it would be funny to stick meatspin on a friends computer because the class were talking about sites like that. Yeh, I took it one step too far and now I’m facing the consequences.

I might be able to transfer to another college, but I’m not quite sure. I need to look into it all, and simply hope for the best.

Thanks to all my friends and family who prayed, wished me good luck, and hoped for the best, but it simply was no hope. But hey, everything happens for a reason right? Something good has to come out of this, and therefore I am not going to worry!
